Introduction
Alternative Character Battle is simply an alternative to GameFAQs' Character Battles, but taking out the nonsense they do such as giving out prize money for lame predictions, letting in objects and leaving legitimate characters in the cold and having one character winning most of the contest which prevents others from having a chance to win. The Alternative Character Battle has none of that and aims for a fairer tournament than what GameFAQs has to offer.
This is simply for fun and nothing else, except for possibly proving how much better a random person could do with their own Character Battle contest than GameFAQs could.
How the Alternative Character Battle works
There are similarities to how GameFAQs' Character Battle system. For the Alternative Character Battle, you list 5 - 10 of your favourite game characters that apply to the rules and once two weeks have passed since this tournament started, the results will be tallied and the final bracket will be posted along with the first poll of the Alternative Character Battle.
The polls will be posted on this account's news posts everyday at 7PM EST/12AM GMT. Each poll will be open for 24 hours and the results will be tallied once the time is up. Obviously, the character with the most votes will go through to the next round. The amount of characters for each battle will depend on how many entrants have been submitted to this contest.
How to submit your entrants and vote in the polls
Post your 5 - 10 favourite video game characters to this news post. Please take note that any entrants that do not abide the rules will be rejected and the comment will be deleted. For the polls, just a simple comment saying Character A or Character B is enough.
Rules
1. The characters have to be ACTUAL characters, NOT objects. This means anything like L-Block and Weighted Companion Cube are not eligible for this contest. As long as it's a living thing in the video game, any character you submit (besides the forbidden ones) is accepted.
2. The limit for the amount of characters from any franchise or video game is three. Your submission cannot exceed that limit.
3. If the results receive too many characters from one video game/franchise, the characters will be narrowed down to a few and the others will be left out. This is so the polls won't be flooded with characters from a single franchise such as Final Fantasy.

These are excluded from the Alternative Character Battle due to their high popularity. As great as these characters may be, they'd only dominate the contest if they were allowed to participate.
